New Patient Acupuncture + Consultation pic

75-90 minutes | $175

During this comprehensive consultation an acugraph (digital meridian imaging) scan, health history overview, nutrition consultation, and acupuncture treatment will be provided.

Acupuncture Follow-up

45-60 minute | $110

During this appointment fine needles will be inserted into carefully selected pressure points along the body which correspond to the energetic meridians (highways that carry energy throughout the body) to increase circulation, alleviate discomfort/pain, and restore the body to a state of balance.

Treatments are normally done face up and or face down on a massage table. TDP infrared heat lamps may also be used to warm the body, improve blood flow, and decrease pain. Many patients find acupuncture incredibly relaxing and may even fall asleep, or enter into a meditative state during treatment.

Acupuncture needles are not hollow like hypodermic needles - making them much thinner than you might imagine. In many cases, you will truly not feel the needle being inserted. Nonetheless, if you are sensitive to needles, a first-timer, or a pediatric patient you may choose from many other treatments including Press Needles, Ear SeedsGua ShaCupping, or Moxibustion.

If this is your first time at Magnolia Wellness please head over to the New Patient Appointment page.

New Patient Pediatric
Acupuncture + Consultation

75-90 minutes | $110 - Birth to 12 years.

During this comprehensive consultation an acugraph (digital meridian imaging) scan, health history overview, nutrition consultation, and Pediatric Acupuncture will be provided. The main goal of our pediatric appointment is making sure your child is comfortable with acupuncture. We do this by giving them control over their own healing; for example by letting them self-apply Ear Seeds or Press Needles.

Pediatric Acupuncture

60 minutes | $60

During pediatric acupuncture one of our trained practitioners will lightly inset a thin needle into pressure points along your child’s body. These needles are very thin, and only kept in for a short moment resulting in a painless experience for your child. Acupuncture for children helps with daily alignments, but is especially useful during cold/flu season to keep your child happy and healthy.

If this is your child's first time at Magnolia Wellness OC please head over to the New Pediatric Appointment page.

Cupping Therapy is an old treatment technique of placing several vacuum pressured glasses on the body to perform reverse-pressure massage. It has been in practice in both China and the West for more than 3000 years.

The process traditionally uses glass jars, heated to create a vacuum, and placed on the upper back to relieve acute illnesses such as colds and fevers. Cupping can also be done all over the body to invigorate the flow of Qi and to relieve tension and pain. It is often used for treating upper and lower backache, chronic nausea & vomiting, sciatica, frozen shoulder and more.

Acupuncture + Gua Sha Appointment pic

Acupuncture + Gua Sha

60 minuites | $140

This combo treatment involves acupuncture, followed by Gua Sha.

During acupuncture treatment, fine needles are inserted into carefully selected points along the body which correspond to the energy meridians: Read more.

Gua Sha is a Chinese treatment, similar in effect to cupping. 'Gua' stands for rubbing or friction. 'Sha' stands for congested or stagnant blood at the surface of the body. When friction is applied in repeated, even strokes, the 'sha' surfaces as small red petechiae relieving pain and muscle tension. The red spots and bruising might take 2 to 3 days to heal. Usually a flat tool with rounded ends is used to create this effect. It is wonderful at treating stiff upper necks and backs and dealing with everyday stress.

Esoteric Acupuncture pic

Esoteric Acupuncture

75-90 minutes | $155

Esoteric Acupuncture is one of our most recommended appointments for its natural power to work with chakras and multiple energy fields. It also helps to raise the bodies vibration at a cellular level. This creates balance in your anatomy – working to open chakras, prevent sickness, and add a layer of protective auras. Esoteric Acupuncture elevates alternative healing from treating illness to actively preventing it.

"Esoteric Acupuncture is not merely another form of acupuncture treatment. Esoteric Acupuncture defines a “way of life.” This way of life emphasizes the awakening and expansion of our spiritual center (not the same as religions). This way of life includes the importance of understanding the vibrational frequencies of the foods and drinks we ingest. Everything we eat and drink shapes our multiple energy fields."
- Founder of Esoteric Acupuncture - Mikio Sankey, Ph.D.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture Appointment pic

Facial Rejuvenation
Acupuncture Appointment

75-90 minutes | $160

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture can improve muscle tone, tighten facial muscles, and increase collagen production. Without going under the knife, superficial wrinkles are repaired, and deeper wrinkles can be significantly reduced. You can also expect an improvement in your facial color while lifting and toning the skin around the neck, eyes, and mouth. Acne, sun damage, and other dermatological conditions may be treated at the same time.

Facial Acupuncture is a genuine TCM treatment. The treatment is, therefore, tailor-made to the individual patient, and treats the whole body as well as the face. At the same time, Facial Acupuncture is a safe, affordable, and luxurious alternative to many of the medi-spa facial treatments that are popular today.

Additional treatment modalities may be incorporated like Facial Cupping, Gua Sha, Micro-Needling, and Microcurrent.

IVF Protocol Treatment

2-4 hours | $400

Oxford Academic reports that on average 10% of couples in the United States have trouble with infertility. According to reports by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) this number increases to 25% at by age 30, and over 50% by age 40. Because of this, many couples seek out in vitro fertilization (IVF) - a mixture of medicine and surgery - to assist in the succesful fertilzation of an egg. IVF is a life changing procedure, but is also expensive, time consuming, and emotionally taxing. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), depending on a variety of factors IVF success rates average from 15%-55%.

At Magnolia Wellness OC, we offer acupuncture service alongside IVF, which according to a study by British Medical Journal (BMJ), will increase the odds of pregnancy by 65%. This is done on-site at your preferred doctors lab. The acupuncture service is split into two 30 minutes sessions both before and after the 2-4 hour IVF treatment.

We deeply value this treatment's life-giving benefits, and encourage you to contact us for more information.

Everyone knows that diet and nutrition are instrumental in maintaining good health! Dietary changes and nutrition are fully integrated into the theories of Chinese Medicine and are an important key factor in maintaining health and success.

As such, dietary recommendations are given to patients throughout treatment and we frequently prescribe nutritional supplements. Additionally, we frequently make recommendations for western nutritional supplements as needed. Nutrition counseling is included in an acupuncture appointment, or can be scheduled separately.

Ear Seeds and Press Needles

At Magnolia Wellness OC we offer ear seeds and press needling during any acupuncture appointment. During this process, small stickers with Magnolia seeds or round band-aid like stickers with micro-millimeter needles are placed on the ear to stimulate specific pressure points. These can be self-administered, giving you total control over your own healing!

Ear seeds and press needling have many benefits, such as reducing pain, anxiety, depression, stress, and insomnia. As well, the size and application make them ideal for those unsure or intimidated by acupuncture. This provides a great option for our pediatric patients to feel comfortable and in control.

Feel free to request ear seeds or press needles during your next acupuncture appointment, and we will happily oblige!

The Moxa herb is used by TCM practitioners for its warming and tonifying characteristics. Moxibustion (the process of burning Moxa) either on a needle or directly on the skin helps build the Qi and rid the body of excess moisture. Patients usually enjoy this sensation of warmth and find it very relaxing. The heat never gets close enough to the skin to burn.

Your acupuncturist often teaches her patients how to administer this treatment to themselves safely at home. This is a good way for patients to engage in a relaxing activity that allows them to be a direct part of their own healing process.

Where appropriate, Moxibustion is included with an acupuncture visit.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

We are one of the leading acupuncture and herbal medicine clinics helping patients throughout Orange County, California. We offer traditional oriental treatment techniques helping patients overcome various medical conditions.

Our lead practitioner, Angela Sinnett, holds a masters degree in Oriental Medicine and is highly educated on the health benefits offered by Traditional Chinese Medicinal Herbs and Treatment techniques. She believes that Chinese medicinal herbal remedies not only helps patients overcome specific health issues but also helps re-generate the body to maintain a healthy lifestyle free of health concerns.

Herbal medicine is a major component of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has been used for over 3000 years in China and worldwide. Before pharmaceuticals (and even the use of acupuncture needles) herbal remedies were used to heal and balance the human body. Chinese herbs have shown their effectiveness under the scrutiny of both empirical study and modern clinical trials. These herbs can be used to augment the treatment of a particular imbalance, working together or sometimes in place of acupuncture and other medicines. Unlike most pharmaceuticals, herbal prescriptions in Chinese Medicine are tailor-made for the individual.
