5 Superfoods to Boost Your Fertility

Your diet is a key foundational part of your fertility journey and it’s also one of the easiest areas of your life to make changes right away. Your body needs energy for fertility and the food we eat can either help boost or decrease it. The goal is to work with your body and to nourish it so that it can support a healthy pregnancy.

When looking at your diet, we aren’t just looking at the nutritional characteristics of each food. At Magnolia Wellness, we are also incorporating Traditional Chinese Medicine which also looks at the energetic qualities of food and how that impacts each system in the body.

Here are 5 foods you can focus on adding to your diet to boost your fertility:

Red meat - local, organic, grass-fed beef is a great food to add to nourish the blood. Blood flow and circulation is a critical part of your fertility as we need your blood to flow to your reproductive organs. It’s especially important as you lose blood each cycle.

Green vegetables - these are abundant in iron and iodine, which are necessary for replacing the blood lost during your cycle. They are also filled with Vitamin B, which helps your liver convert hormones.

Whole grains - these are great sources of Vitamin E which helps to circulate the blood and keep it from stagnating. It also improves the lining of the uterus. Many also have iron and iodine as well which are also necessary for blood replacement.

Whole raw milk - it’s best to consume this from grass-fed cows. This is a great source of calcium and fat which are needed to sustain a healthy pregnancy. It can also help with ovulation.

Flaxseeds - these are filled with fiber, and omega-3 fatty acids. These are powerful at helping you balance your hormones and boost fertility.

Here are a few recipe ideas to get you started.

A few other things to note when changing your diet for fertility. Focus on warm foods to stimulate blood flow to your abdomen area. Colder foods tend to slow down blood flow. You don’t have to worry about going crazy completely overhauling your diet as that can be overwhelming at first. To start, take one meal at a time and try to add in a fertility superfood to the recipe.

here is so much more to fertility than just your diet and we are here to help you figure out what your fertility needs are. Click here to book a consultation with Magnolia Wellness so we can help you get to the root cause of your fertility issues and help you successfully conceive.
