For over two years, we’ve been offering telehealth sessions with our resident naturopath and we’re excited to explore them further with you. While we also offer telehealth sessions with our herbalists, we want to first clarify one important piece. When you’re deciding whether to see an herbalist or a naturopath, it really comes down to what you’re seeking solutions for.

  • If you’re curious about functional medicine that offers blood work and lab testing, you’d benefit from seeing a naturopath.

  • For digestion issues, to understand and improve energy levels, and/or to use tonic herbs, we suggest working with herbal medicine.

What is a naturopath and what can they do?

According to WebMD, ‘naturopathic medicine is a system that uses natural remedies to help the body heal itself. It embraces many therapies, including herbs, massage, acupuncture, exercise, and nutritional counseling.’ By combining traditional and western medicines, the goal of a naturopath is to holistically treat the person through mind, body and spirit to understand the root of an illness. Naturopathic medicine is incredibly thorough - you’ll be asked a variety of questions about your health history, nutrition and lifestyle choices, and stress levels. Oftentimes, a naturopathic doctor will order lab tests so that they can understand, diagnose and treat you based on your results.

a brief rundown of what a Magnolia Wellness telehealth session with a Naturopathic doctor looks like:

Step 1: Book a session with for an online Naturopathic visit and we’d connect digitally using telehealth

Step 2: You will be notified to complete new patient paperwork.

Step 3: During your session, you will discuss your health history and express what your concerns are.

Step 4: Pending on the conversation, the naturopath will order specific lab tests for you to take and/or vitamin shots that can boost you right away.

Step 5: A follow up appointment will be made to discuss your lab tests. Your naturopath will also suggest specific supplements, nutritional and lifestyle recommendations specifically designed for you.
